Weekly Parent Letter

August 21, 2026
By Bill Sharp

Dear Parents and Families of RCS,

Greetings Warrior Nation!!  Hard to believe, I know, but we have already completed 1 full week of school!  For those math types that love to count, we only have 38 more to go! We have so many blessings to be grateful for as we kick off the 75th anniversary of Richmond Christian School.  Stay tuned throughout the year for updates on plans and events to make this the best year ever!

A couple of housekeeping items: First, thank you so much for your attention and patience during the morning and afternoon carline.  As we move into week 2, the flow and efficiency will get better and families will find that “sweet spot” arrival time that will help us continue to be both efficient and safe.  Speaking of arrival, please make every effort to arrive on campus by 7:55 each morning.  Giving your student that extra couple of minutes to get to their classroom and ready for the day on time makes a huge difference for them and the rest of the class.

We would ask if you do find yourself arriving on campus after 7:57, you report to the front office instead of going through back car line to sign your student in.

It has been wonderful seeing your students on campus again and hearing about so many great vacations and memory-making events this summer.  After a full week of full days, they might choose to sleep a little extra late tomorrow.  We see the joy on their faces as they reconnect with past teachers and get to know new ones.

Speaking of new, we have a few new staff faces as a part of Warrior Nation this year.  More information and individual bios will be coming next week, but please keep these folks in mind and in your prayers as they settle in to their new role:

  • Shaunica Johnson – Director of Business Operations
  • Jessica Milks – Part-time PE Assistant
  • Brittany Richards – 2nd Grade
  • Rev. Christie Bernard Thadikonda – Student Life Director/HS Math & Science Teacher
  • Joey Vaughn – MS Math

We are still in need of substitute teachers – if you are interested, please go HERE to complete the application.  Once completed, return it to me at bsharp@richmondchristian.com.

Thank you all again for a great start to another great year!!  We look forward to all God has for us (and you) this year!

Blessings,

Bill Sharp, M.Ed.
