Building Disciples

Richmond Christian School is committed to presenting the gospel of Jesus Christ to each student. Therefore, we approach each subject and activity from a Biblical perspective, offering an excellent academic program to help each student develop a worldview consistent with the Christian faith and make ambassadors for Jesus Christ (Colossians 3:17, 2 Peter 1:5).

Richmond Christian School functions in a complementary role with the Christian home to provide opportunities to build disciples by nurturing each student's mind, body and soul.

We believe that discipline is a process that guides students to develop Christ-like characteristics.  Therefore, we don't confine discipline to mere external control, but each student is encouraged and guided to become internally governed through example and precept.  "Being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." (1 Corinthians 3:18) Biblically-modeled goals of discipline for discipleship help our students understand how the impact of their actions has negative and positive consequences on others and themselves.  We teach students to examine outward actions and hidden motives behind moral choices in light of Scripture.  And discuss how to strengthen our walk with Christ by steps of confession, repentance, forgiveness, and restoration.  As we respond to the call of discipleship, we must ask, "Where will it lead us?" Discipleship means choosing to do the right thing because it brings honor to the Lord.

Discipline aims to become a mature believer who recognizes the temptation to do wrong and how to avoid wrongdoing in the future.  The student will discuss with their Principal how to repent from their sinful actions, restore their relationship with God, the teacher, and possibly classmates, and continue to be under God's protection and provision.
