Middle School (6-8)
Equipping Middle School Students for Life and Learning
Our middle school program builds on foundational skills learned in elementary school and prepares students for more advanced learning through solid, biblically based core and elective courses. At RCS, students in seventh and eighth grade complete rigorous courses that uniquely combine academic excellence and spiritual development by integrating a biblical worldview into each course. Students continue to develop critical thinking, writing, and computer skills that will help ensure success in upper school and beyond.
As middle school students begin to navigate new academic challenges and social dynamics, Richmond Christian School provides a supportive, Christ-centered environment that nurtures both their minds and hearts. Our program builds on foundational skills from the elementary years and prepares students for upper school through rigorous, biblically grounded core and elective courses.
One distinctive feature of our middle school experience is a dedicated Life Skills course, designed to equip students with practical tools for everyday success. Throughout the year, students rotate through four focused modules:
• Study Skills – Strategies for organization, time management, and effective learning
• Social Skills – Biblical principles for communication and healthy relationships
• Home Skills– Hands-on training in personal responsibility, stewardship, and household tasks
• Technology Skills – Safe and purposeful use of digital tools for academic and personal growth
Our intentional focus on life readiness, combined with continued development in reading, writing, math, science, history, and Bible, helps students grow in confidence, character, and competence as they prepare for high school and beyond.
