9/1/23 Update

7/7/23 Update
WOW!!! See pics below. One full step of the gym renovation finished. The gym floor has the new layout, new finished coating, and new baseboards. If you want to see the full transformation of the floor, scroll to the bottom of this page to compare the pics of the old gym floor - WOW again!
As of Thursday this week, RCS sports teams have begun practices again in our gym. The next few stages of the renovation include freshening up the walls with new paint and then ……………….. NEW BLEACHERS coming in August. Our fundraising for this project is continuing as the project progresses. 5/31/23 Update
The RCS Middle School planned and hosted an event last Thursday evening and raised $492 toward the gym renovation. Their dedication and hearts for RCS are evident as they conceived the idea because they wanted to help - GREAT JOB MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS AND STAFF.
There is also an RCS family that is donating $3,000 toward the gym renovation and is challenging the rest of the RCS community to match the donation in the next two weeks. It would be awesome if our supporters would not only match the $3,000, but also match the $492 that the Middle School students raised with their efforts. Let's go Warrior Nation!!!

Gym Renovation Story
Richmond Christian School supports our local community and students from Kindergarten through 12th grade by Educating Hearts & Minds for Christ. We have a single gym that supports all physical education classes and all indoor sports for all grades. The gym was built many years ago and still has the original bleachers and original floor. Both have outlasted their useful lives and need to be replaced to provide an improved environment for our students and spectators.
Our beautiful and nostalgic campus was built in the 1960s. Most of our capital funds are being spent on replacing roofs, windows, heating units, and air conditioning units, thereby making gym renovations more difficult to fund. The gym bleachers are currently wood and will be replaced with durable polymer and steel bleachers that will last for years to come. The total proposed cost of the bleachers from a well-established, reliable vendor is $69,800.
The gym floor needs repairs due to damage from a leaky roof. There are patches of rotted wood and uneven surfaces on the floor. The gym roof was finally replaced last year, so we can now work on the inside of the gym. The total proposed cost for the repairs and refinishing of the gym floor from a well-established, reliable vendor is $22,000.
Since the gym is used by ALL grades, this project will be extremely beneficial to our entire student body. We have already raised $9,075 which is specifically designated for the bleachers. We would be extremely grateful to anyone who would help support us with a contribution toward the remaining cost of the bleachers and gym floor. THANK YOU!
