Parent Letter - 10/3/25
Dear RCS Parents and Families,
We’re excited to be back on track with our Friday letters after a short break last week, as we celebrated our oldest son’s wedding this past Sunday. Months of preparation, planning, and a whirlwind of emotions (a rollercoaster that could rival anything at Busch Gardens!) all came together in a single joyful day. And just like that, it was over—the happy couple drove off into their new life together. Next stop, Lord willing—grandkids!
This week’s encouragement comes from Exodus 14 and the story of the Red Sea. After Pharaoh finally released the Israelites, he quickly regretted losing his entire workforce (and all the plunder the Israelites carried out of Egypt!) and set out to chase them down. Trapped with the Red Sea before them and Pharaoh’s army behind them, God’s people found themselves in what seemed like an impossible situation.
In that moment, God gave Moses these powerful words in Exodus 14:14: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Imagine hearing that—surrounded on every side by danger and being told to be still. But God wasn’t asking them to do nothing. He was asking them to rest their hearts and minds, to trust Him completely instead of panicking or taking matters into their own hands.
As Moses lifted his staff, God created a fiery cloud to hold back the Egyptians, then parted the Red Sea, so His people could walk safely across dry land. Once they were through, God closed the waters over Pharaoh’s army, delivering His people and showing them His victory.
The lesson for us? When we face challenges that seem impossible, we don’t need to give in to fear. Instead, we steady our hearts, keep our eyes forward, and walk forward in faith—trusting that God will make a way through our trial, not just around it, because He wants you to see victory on the other side.
It was such a blessing to see so many gathered for See You At The Pole last week. Watching our students lead in prayer for our school, community, and nation was powerful and inspiring. Thank you also to the volunteers who cooked and served breakfast—your support means so much.
This week, our students also stepped away from the regular routine to focus on God during Spiritual Emphasis Days. Elementary students enjoyed chapel on Monday and Tuesday, while our secondary students were encouraged by Pastor Mark from Swift Creek Baptist Church. The week ended with joy and laughter as secondary students hosted “Olympic-style” games for our younger students, from Pre-K through 3rd grade—a sweet reminder of the power of service and fellowship. Thank you for your continued support and prayers for our students and school, that God will spark a revival among our students and community.
As the quarter comes to a close in just two weeks, please continue encouraging your students to finish strong. Remind them that their teachers are here to help in any areas where they may need extra support.
We are so grateful for you—our families and partners. Your prayers, encouragement, and presence make all the difference. Enjoy this beautiful weekend, and know that we love and appreciate you.
Blessings,
