Weekly Parent Letter
Dear Parents and Families of RCS,
I want to take a moment to thank you for all of your support in the partnership to teach and minister to your students. It is hard to believe that we have only six more Mondays until the end of the year! Here are a couple of things to keep in mind over the next few weeks:
- Pavement repair. After a couple of weeks of phone tagging and gathering quotes, we have a plan to repair the car line loop. Over the next couple of weeks (depending on their availability), we will have the back half of the loop and front entrances repaired.
- Iowa Testing. Starting Monday, 20 April, we will spend the week completing our annual Iowa Assessments. I am asking for your help in communicating the importance of these assessments to your students, as they serve the following purposes:
- The results give you, as their parent(s)/guardian(s), an overview of their progress each year. It also lets you compare their improvement from year to year and chart their progress. If they don’t take the assessments seriously, you will receive flawed information about your child(ren).
- Classroom teachers use the results to evaluate their class’s performance, to determine areas of strength, and to determine areas needing improvement for the upcoming year.
- RCS also uses the results to compare our performance against similar schools across the country. Then we can evaluate our progress as a school and identify any necessary areas for improvement.
Please remind your students of those points as we ask them to give their very best each day. Eat a good breakfast, be here on time, and take each test seriously. We expect to receive the results in early summer and will make them available to you once they are returned to us.
Blessings on you for a joyous, restful Resurrection Day celebration and a week of making memories with family and friends. He is Risen - He is Risen indeed!!
Blessings,
