My life verse is Heb 12:1-2 "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
I am very excited about starting my seventh year at RCS. This is my eleventh year in Christian education. Before RCS, I spent four years at another local Christian school, where I taught math, science, technology and managed their technology infrastructure. I've been married to my beautiful bride, Pegi, for over 35 years, and we have three sons, two daughters-in-law and one grandchild.
Our oldest son, Joseph, is a graduate of EMU with a BS degree in Nursing and is working at VCU Medical Center. Joseph is married to a wonderful young lady, Kaleigh, and they live in Richmond. Our middle son, Briton, is in his General Surgery residency in Texas. Briton has recently married a wonderful young lady named Tori, and is blessed with a beautiful daughter. And our youngest son, Josh, graduated from RCS in 2019 and is an IT Specialist for the U. S. Navy, and is currently stationed in Seattle, WA.
I attended the Virginia Military Institute and received my Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil Engineering. After graduating from VMI, I went into the U. S. Air Force, where I was a B-52 Navigator. It was while in the Air Force that I got my Master’s of Science degree in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas. I spent most of my professional career in technical sales and information technology, until the Lord called me into education.
I'm also involved in ministry at my local church, Cornerstone Assembly of God, where I manage the sound system and video live-stream production on most weekends. I also co-founded the Mentor Classic Ministries, which I've been involved with for the past 25 years. When I'm not busy with family, school & ministry, I enjoy hiking, backpacking & camping. My dream is to one day thru-hike the entire Appalachian Trail.
