Weekly Parent Letter - 7/15/22

July 15, 2022
By Bill Sharp

Dear Parents and Families of RCS,

We are officially into the second half of summer, where some will cheer (parents), and some will boo (students).  We continue to see God providing for RCS in unexpected ways.  We should not be surprised when we see God come through.  In 71 years, He has never let RCS down, but sometimes I still catch myself thinking, “Whoa, how did he do that?”

Again this week, as some of the leadership team was engrossed in the FACTS conference, God came through and provided the final piece of the 2022-23 faculty – a teacher for Middle School English!!  We want to welcome Mrs. Selah Williamson to the RCS family, where she will teach 7th, 8th, and 9th grade English.  A graduate of Mississippi State University, Mrs. Williamson has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in English and a master’s degree in English Education.  She has taught English at several colleges and schools, including the University of West Alabama and Lighthouse Baptist Academy.  Most recently, Mrs. Williamson and her husband lived in Greenville, SC, where he attended Bible college.  At the same time, she taught in both Tabernacle Christian School and College.  With a nearly 3-year-old and twin 1-year-olds in tow, they decided to move closer to family this summer in Amelia Courthouse.  Mrs. Williamson is thrilled to join Warrior Nation and looking forward to the coming year.  Welcome, Mrs. Williamson!

Please continue to be in prayer for the two mission teams coming to serve RCS this summer.  They will be working on various maintenance, painting, and cleanup projects.

For you planners, we are scheduling a Campus Cleanup Day on Saturday, 6 August.  As we get closer to the date, we will have more details regarding times and projects, so stay tuned.  Remember, if you seek God for an answer, direction, or provision, Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus.” So keep seeking and trusting, and he will not let you down!

I hope to see many of you on campus on 6 August to join in and help with tasks that should be done for the coming school year.  Have a great weekend!

Blessings,

Bill Sharp, M.Ed.
